I started doing card readings in the mid 1970.s, using the Ryder-Waite Deck. I enjoyed the basic symbolism of the deck, and did readings for myself, and others.
In the late 1980.s Jamie Samms published the Medicine Cards. I decided to switch to the Medicine Cards, because they fit so perfectly with the medicine teachings I was studying at the time.
In 1988 Spiritualists Jamie Samms and David Carson, published the Native American Medicine Cards that were purely about animals. At the time these cards coincided with my own path. I was residing in Miami, Florida studying with two Native American Teachers. Again the cards fit perfectly with my studies at the time.
Three years later Jamie Samms published The Sacred Path Deck. This deck is natural link with the Medicine Cards. The Sacred Path Cards broaden the scope of the readings to incorporate many different Native American Tribal beliefs. I have been reading both decks together since I had bought them.
Jamie Samms shares some of the teachings of different Native American belief systems such as Seneca, Aztec, Choctaw, Lakota, Mayan,
Yaqui, Paite, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Iroquois, and the Apache nations. In the Spirit of the Wolf Clan, (Jamie.s Clan) they share and teach the goodness of wisdom that brings peace to all nations, and all peoples.
I have also expanded my knowledge to read the Arthurian Deck, which deals with the Legend of King Arthur. This deck is also part of my own heritage and personal growth.
While doing research with my own family genealogy I discovered that my father.s family had come from Salisbury Plain, England eleven generations ago. And to my knowledge I am the only one in eleven generations to return to England.
In memory of my ancestors I also felt the need to learn about and read the Druid Oracle, which is also an animal, based deck with Old English illustrations that incorporate dragons.
